The original template for the screen print was 1 of a series of 4 works in paper exploring the concepts of randomness and unpredictability.

Each work involved creating a pattern on paper by random tearing. There was no planning or prior thinking of the design. It was a process which allowed arbitrary shapes and texture to be created guided by my intuition and  strongly determined by the fabrication of the paper itself.

The outcome of the exercise was four different patterns lacking the usual constraints of design but reflecting uncontrived and spontaneous composition.
